Even though Caleb tries to act like he doesn't like school, he really does. Both the kids were really excited for their first day of school.
Caleb is in 5th grade and Caden is in Kindergarten.
It didn't matter that today was Caleb's first day in the new school, he wanted to ride the bus anyway, so this is the only picture I have.
Caden had been asking almost non-stop this morning, "when are you going to take me to school."
Since the kids had been fighting so much lately I was actually getting excited for school to start. So I haven't been emotional about Kindergarten.
Here is Caden and her friend Lauren with their teacher Mrs. Hawkins.
Caden first met Lauren several years ago at Sonshine School (a mother's day out program), so they were both excited to have each other in their class.
There were a couple of moms with a few tears. I just looked at them with sympathy because I knew I had been like that with Caleb. I remember I cried just registering him for Kindergarten. Like a moron, just crying over paperwork.
Since I was ready for them to go back I didn't think I would get emotional. I was doing good all day until this. . .
Until her teacher told us we could not go in with the kids and they had to say goodbye to us at the door.
My little sweetie waving me off.
I know she will do great. She is a such a sweet little girl and I know she will have fun.
She is VERY excited to ride the bus home with her big brother!!
So with only a few minor tears from me, I would say school got off to a great start.
Now next year when she finally gets to go all day and I will have one in middle school, then I might have to really break down
